Girton College Bills are sent to @cam email address on a termly basis (see schedule on slide 5 ) from finance@girton.cam.ac.uk What is included? Payment details Accommodation (living in) Room rent 42/49 weeks, payable termly Tuition fees Whole year s fees, payable in November Food/ lodge charges All charges at the Hub, Cafeteria, Lodge, payable termly (1st years only, refunded on completion), payable termly Security deposit College Contribution (living out) 50 per term to cover access to College facilities eg sports and subsidised Cafeteria etc, payable termly Note: if you have a funder (department/institution ): you will not have to pay your funder s contribution amount. US Loans: the college will pass on the amount not covering any fees or charges 1
How to pay the Bills Please pay by Bank Transfer: details below (The College does not accept payment by debit/credit card or cash) o o Information about UK bank accounts : Bank and building society directory | Finance Division (cam.ac.uk) Students who do not have a UK bank Account: the college has partnered with Transfermate to pay in their own currency at beneficial rates with no conversion fee: https://girtonstudents.transfermateeducation.com/ o o Do not close your UK bank account before you get the final refund from the College (usually one month after course completion/graduation) 1

Problems with paying on time? If you find yourself unable to pay a bill on time, please contact your tutor as soon as possible , Nicky , Financial Welfare Officer fwo@girton.cam.ac.uk and Martin Shadbolt: finance@girton.cam.ac.uk). You can arrange a payment plan Or in more extreme circumstances, there may be other support All information will be treated in confidence If you don t communicate & arrange a payment plan: Strict penalties apply for late payment of bills Starting with a fine of 50 After 10 days, interest is charged @ UK bank base rate + 10% And further action is taken if the bill is still not paid 1
Student Insurance Block insurance arrangement covering 5,000 content insurance per student All students residing in College or Swirles Court are covered Cost included in residence charge there is NO extra to pay for the basic cover Check that this basic level covers your needs eg Cash in rooms up to 75 Laptop away from room 500 Personal possessions away from room 200 Bicycles 200 You can increase your insurance cover via the insurance brokers website: Claims can be made via our broker S-Tech: here 1
