The GC Product Management Community of Practice (CoP) is a federal community focused on integrating product management practices into government departments. Organized by TBS's Office of the Chief Information Officer and the Canada School of Public Service's Digital Academy, the CoP facilitates information sharing, discussions on barriers, and exploration of innovative solutions. With bimonthly sessions and an online hub on GCXchange, the CoP aims to enable product management practices to mature. The community leverages collective knowledge, fosters cross-collaboration, and provides professional development opportunities for GC product practitioners.

UNCLASSIFIED / NON CLASSIFI UNCLASSIFIED/NON CLASSIFI Who we are The GC Product Management Community of Practice (CoP) is co-organized by TBS's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and the Canada School of Public Service's (CSPS) Digital Academy. Purpose of CoP The CoP brings together GC product practitioners to share information, discuss barriers, and explore innovative solutions to integrating product management into their departments. A federal community, focussed on the GC context. Main activities are: Hosting bimonthly, one-hour sessions Maintaining the CoP's online hub on GCXchange. TBS-OCIO and CSPS-DA as co-organizers and enablers OCIO does not have an oversight role, or official responsibility for GC Product Management. Our goal is to enable Product Management practices to mature. 2

Policy on Planning and Management of Investments (2021) How departments must plan for digital enabled projects or digital investments. Department-specific policies governing Product Management practices OCIO's Digital Ambition (2022) - A strategic view The 2023 Digital Ambition emphasized the need for agile product management approaches to respond to changing business needs and leverage new technologies. 3

Membership is voluntary, and members may attend sessions as they like. 40-50 regular attendees from 30+ departments and agencies. Bimonthly sessions Featured a wide variety of GC products, across the spectrum of Product Management development cycle. WIP to launched products that are integrating new features. Members make presentations to the community and discuss. Good forum to share work and receive informal advice and feedback from fellow practitioners. GCXchange Evergreen repository of Product Management resources shared by community members. Back catalog of CoP sessions. 4
