Stay safe while target shooting by bringing a shovel and water or fire extinguisher to put out fires. Avoid using steel core ammo, exploding targets, tracer ammo, and incendiary ammo on public lands. Place targets on dirt or gravel away from grass, and consider shooting at established ranges if fire danger is high. Do not shoot at TVs or appliances, or smoke near dry grass.
