  1. FINDING PEACE IN TROUBLED TIMES

  2. That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, Let us go over to the other side. 36Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him.37A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.38Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion.

  3. The disciples woke him and said to him, Teacher, don t you care if we drown? 39He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, Quiet! Be still! Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. 40He said to his disciples, Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith? 41They were terrified and asked each other, Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him! Mark 4:35-41 NIV

  4. THREE TRUTHS TO HELP YOU FIND PEACE IN TROUBLED TIMES:

  5. 1. Jesus has given you his word that he will get you through the storm.

  6. Let us go over to the other side. Mark 4:35

  7. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33 NIV

  8. I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation. Psalm 91:15-16 NIV

  9. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; Psalm 23:4 NIV

  10. Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 NKJV

  11. 2. Jesus has already defeated the adversary that s stirring up your storm.

  12. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Colossians 2:15 NIV

  13. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,19and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength20he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,

  14. 21far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.22And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,23which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. Ephesians 1:18-23

  15. 3. Jesus is with you in any and every storm.

  16. But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. John 16:7 Amplified

  17. If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31 NIV

  18. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 NIV
