In the Farmington Tiger Football youth program, coordinated offensive formations and concepts are emphasized for players in grades 3-12. The program aims to maintain consistency in offensive strategies while allowing some flexibility for coaches to incorporate age-appropriate concepts. Various formations such as North/South, East/West, and personnel designations like X Wide Receiver and Y Slot Receiver are utilized. Additionally, the developmentally tailored approach seeks to optimize player positions based on skills and team dynamics.

  48. RUN GAME AT THE VARSITY LEVEL WE PUT A LOT OF FOCUS ON THE ZONE RUN GAME INSIDE ZONE AND WIDE ZONE WE BELIEVE THAT THIS CAN BE DONE AT THE 7-8 GRADE LEVEL, BUT DO NOT WANT TO FRUSTRATE COACHES AND PLAYERS IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TEACH ZONE BLOCKING, CONTACT RICK SUTTON FOR MORE INFORMATION/GUIDANCE THE THREE CONCEPTS DISCUSSED ALL HAVE A QB READ COMPONENT THREE RUN GAME CONCEPTS: COUNTER POWER READ SPEED OPTION

  49. COUNTER CONCEPT DEUCE (LEFT)/JOKER (RIGHT) Counter is a gap scheme concept with play side linemen blocking a down track and two pullers from the backside one kicks and the other leads, with the QB reading the BSDE. PST/PSG step with BS foot at a 45-degree angle working to the BSILB, blocking whatever shows in your track. You are working in combination with each other, responsible for the first down lineman to PS and the BSILB. Depending on the defensive front, you will be either a two-arm player or a one-arm player. The key to the play is to get horizontal movement on the down lineman. CENTER block back on the low shaded DL to the BS (1T, 2T or 3T) vs. even front. Vs. odd front game plan will determine if you are blocking back on a 4T or 4I, doubling the nose or climbing to BSILB. GUARD/TACKLE COUNTER INDY (LEFT)/COLT (RIGHT) GUARD/Y COUNTER BALTIMORE (Q CTR LEFT)/RAVENS (QTR RIGHT) QB COUNTER - G/T IN NORTH/SOUTH, EAST/WEST G/Y IN WING FORMATIONS

  50. COUNTER CONCEPt, continued BSG flat pull to kick out PS EMLOS. Aiming point is head across the body to upfield side pull right, block right; pull left, block left. If the EMLOS aggressively closes and wrong-arms, attack downfield shoulder and log him to the inside. 2NDPULLER (T OR Y) Glide pull and wrap up to the PSLB stay tight to the down blocks and get through the hole with shoulders square. You must see the first puller if he has to log the EMLOS, you will work around the guard s log, looking inside for scraping LB. T or Y (NON-PULLER hinge to protect BS B gap. WR Playside: #2 Block D Gap defender; #1 Block Corner or Safety Backside: #2 Bubble; #1 Block Corner QB Step off midline with PS foot, getting eyes on BS DE (Read). Reach back the ball and ride F from hip to hip. Pull read key will be dependent on a number of factors based on QB and the opposing DL. If you get a pull read, eyes go to D Gap defender if he runs to bubble, keep and get vertical; if he comes to you, throw bubble. F Must freeze until ball hits QB s hands. 1ststep is with BS foot downhill at 300; 2ndstep gains ground and opens hips to playside; 3rdstep rolls over to start downhill. Pulling guard is your read if he kicks get downhill TIGHT to the down blocks, cutting off the 2nd puller s block; if he logs bounce outside and get vertical between the 2ndpuller s block and the WR s block on the D gap defender. BALTIMORE/RAVEN F runs counter steps in opposite direction then blocks DE; QB fakes to F then runs Counter
