If it isn’t, the committee will remove your application from consideration in this

Committee (CUAA), the faculty member may appeal the
committee’s decision in writing.

 VPFA meets with chair of Rank and Promotion Committee (CUW) or
Peer Review Committee (CUAA) to clarify committee’s rationale for
decision.

(whether to proceed or to cease the appeals process and reapply for
advancement the next year)
o
 If the faculty member chooses to continue the appeal, VPFA

recommendation from the VPFA, to the Provost, who determines
whether to uphold or overturn the committee’s decision. 
(This year the
Interim President will hear appeals since the interim provost and VPFA will be the same person.)

member and/or committee chair to seek additional clarification prior to making that decision.

If the Provost (
Interim President in 2021-22) 
decides to overturn the committee’s decision, he or she
will forward a written explanation to the committee chair.
If the Provost (

 supports the appeal, the recommendation for
advancement will be forwarded to the Board of Regents along with the other candidates recommended
for promotion, and the appellant will be informed of the Board of Regents decision after the Board has
met.
