  2. They heard the constable's footsteps coming up to Mae s cell. the barred door clanked. Excerpt from Tuck Everlasting, page 123

  3. Clank: Short, loud sound like metal being hit When the constable shuts the cell door, it makes a loud sound.

  4. Would it clank? Would a spoon hitting the side of a metal bowl clank? Why? SAY: It would/would not clank because

  5. Would it clank? Would a rubber mallet hitting a drum clank? Why? SAY: It would/would not clank because

  6. Would it clank? Would an axe chopping a piece of wood go clank? Why? SAY: It would/would not clank because

  7. Would it clank? Would coins being dropped into a metal bowl go clank? Why? SAY: It would/would not clank because
