Light and Dark In your tables you have a statement or quotation in front of you. Do not touch this for now. What do you know about light and dark so far in the novel?
Connotations: Connotations: an idea or feeling which a word invokes for a person in addition to its literal meaning: Dark Light
1. Read the statement or quotes you have been given. 2. In your tables decide whether it is an example of light or dark. 3. Nominate someone to write your statements/quotes on the chosen side of the board. 4. Copy this down in your books as we go along. DO YOU AGREE WITH OTHER STUDENTS CHOICES? If not then put it where you think it should go in your books and note reasons why. (Justify your argument).

This can be seen in Steinbeck s description of the bunkhouse.
