Managing Data & Adding to the Catalog Requires an Expert
To create a new pipe family… in Creo 3
New “pipe family” file must be created
Pipe File
Pipe Diameter File
Pipe Thickness File
Then additionally,
piping_manufacture_dir.ptd
piping_material.ptd
piping_mcat_dir.ptd
piping_unit_system_dic_file.ptd
New and improved in Creo 4
Files now use CSV instead of PTD format
Some files improve with consolidation
However, data translation is therefore not a 1-to-1
Upgrading from Creo 3 will be a manual process
