Initiatives explored include urban farming, code and permitting changes, SNAP program integration, designated policy champions, urban agriculture planning, and cultural context considerations.

Code and Permitting Changes Provide an exemption from code and permitting requirements to use shipping containers for the distribution of food Adopt building code and permitting requirements for hoop houses and greenhouses separate from the general accessory structure requirements 3

Point of Contact Designate an individual to champion policy and practice to increase access to healthy, local, and affordable food 5

Cultural Context To ensure equitable outcomes across all residents, specific services and actions need to be relevant and responsive to the unique needs, health literacy, traditions, and tastes of our diverse communities. 7
