Energy Statistics in Jordan
Meeting highlights from the 10th Oslo Group on Energy Statistics in Aguascalientes, Mexico discussing energy data dissemination in Jordan. The presentation covers significant energy figures from 2015, including primary and final energy consumption, electricity generation, sector-wise energy use, and cost analysis. The data showcases Jordan's energy landscape, with details on population, GDP, energy sources, consumption patterns, and institutional frameworks in the energy sector.

Collecting Data - There is not any legislation underpinning data collection. -In the absence of legislation, we collect data from the institutions with out any interruption. -The ways used in collecting data is formal letters, phone, e-mail. - MEMR collect these types of data: - Daily, Monthly and yearly Data used in conducting energy balance and annual reports. - Other data from surveys which is belong to the final energyconsumption in all sectors, households, industry, agriculture, transportation, etc. 3/4/2025 12
Communication with data provider - MEMR has a good relation with all Institutions of the sectors, so the data which comes from these providers covers all MEMR needs. - If we notice any mistakes or suspicious numbers, we contact the data provider to verify them, also we have regular meetings. 3/4/2025 13
Data Processing The data which was collected is entered and stored as a database, then we do many treatments on it. In case of energy balance we convert the data to (TOE) by using IEA conversion factors. In case of surveys we analyze the data by (SPSS) programs to achieve our goals from the surveys. All these treatments were done by computers. It is very easy to notice errors especially in energy balance. 3/4/2025 14

Energy Information System Objectives Establish a comprehensive national energy data base to provide timely energy statistics and support for National Energy Planning. Help MEMR to achieve its organizational objectives and to assist in building the necessary capabilities and infrastructure to become a one-stop energy statistics center . 3/4/2025 16
Develop maintain and update computerized information system including databank. Establish a mechanism which ensures all data and information relevant to energy planning and energy indicators are available in the energy database system. 3/4/2025 17
