Virginia Girls Wrestling Timeline 2016 - 2017 First Virginia high school girls championships ran at Skyline High School 2014 - 2015 USGWA event ran annually prior to this year 2015 - 2016 First proposal submitted to VHSL 2019 - 2020 Continued growth within the 5 VHSL events & weight classes 2017 - 2018 First high school girls season 5 VHSL events 2018 - 2019 VHSL approved 11 girls weight classes. *Starting in 2018, VHSL allowed girls events to not count towards team event maximum

  13. How Can You Help? Advocate Educate Collaborate Promote 1. Parent Leader/Liaison(s) -Sit on the Sanction VA taskforce, develop talking points and marketing material, communicate with other VA parents. 2. Educate your administrators -Keeping a positive attitude when talking with coaches, Athletic Directors and Administrators is POWERFUL!! 3. Advocate and Promote -Build support through throughout your communities by using your voice through media, social media, and conversation. 4. Purchase a Sanction Virginia shirt and wear it with pride!
