Stronger link to economic governance and European semester Majority of ESIF-relevant CSRs are ESF related: Active employment policies, adequate social policies, more and better qualifications, strengthen administrations. DG EMPL encouraged MS to select the closest Investment Priorities to their respective CSRs This ensures strategic programming, right policy framework, critical mass of funding on key challenges, achievement of results related to the CSRs, traceability 2

Impact on the programming Positive impact Critical mass of funding to address the 2013 and 2014 CSRs ESF allocation to challenges identified in CSRs: Poland: 75% Check Republic: 80% Slovakia: 90% More investment in Youth (Ex: Italy, Slovakia) More alignment in CSR relevant policies (Ex: Germany) More alignment less reprogramming 4
