Duties and Responsibilities of Town Treasurers in Massachusetts
Town treasurers in Massachusetts have specific duties such as giving an annual bond for faithful performance, receiving and handling town money, providing reports, being custodians of trust funds, and more. Failure to meet these responsibilities can lead to vacancy in office. The treasurer must follow regulations regarding the handling and disbursement of public funds.
