  2. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. JEREMIAH 29:11

  3. This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: JEREMIAH 29:4

  4. Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. JEREMIAH 29:5-6

  5. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. JEREMIAH 29:7

  7. On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, Peace be with you! JOHN 20:19-20

  8. Again Jesus said, Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you. And with that he breathed on them and said, Receive the Holy Spirit. JOHN 20:22

  9. The Church is to be Gods response to the prayers and the needs of its community.
