Its all about communication Delegation is a process We are all accountable
What is passed on correctly What is lost What is changed What is added/ embellished
What happened to the detail? Did the meaning change? What would have made it easier to understand and remember? What about in another language? Would you have remembered more or less had you just received bad news?
Applying this to your work How much information can you or others assimilate? What does it tell us about the importance in having a relative or carer present? What does it tell us about the importance of written information? Does this help explain some complaints? Does this have parallels with complex issues at and after MDT meetings? What does it tell us about the importance of having the opportunity to ask questions? Gaining REAL clarity ? What does this tell us about how we delegate and accept delegated roles and responsibilities?
