German trip 2018 NOVEMBER 7th 11th

Departure We leave from school (Nevill Campus) and travel in school minibuses to the airport London Heathrow We stay for 5 days Wednesday to Sunday and the German students return 2 weeks later
Arrival We travel from the airport to the Youth Hostel by public transport (train / tube train) There are two options staying with a German family in their home OR staying in a German youth Hostel. (The accompanying teachers stay here too.)
At school (Matar Gymnasium) This is our partner school Matar Gymnasium. It is in a suburb of D sseldorf.
Example Itinerary Mittwoch: travel to Germany, meet buddies, evening meal with buddies in Youth Hostel. (all students) Donnerstag: day spent in school with buddies working on cross cultural projects & attending lessons. Free time in the afternoon with buddies. Evening spent with buddies and their families. (all students) Freitag: day spent in D sseldorf recording work from Thursday. Samstag: day trip to Bonn and K ln as a group. Visit to Haus der Geschichte museum, lunch together in a traditional Brauhaus, free time to shop. Evening spent packing (!) and with buddies. Sonntag: flight times permitting, trip into D sseldorf to go up the tower, fly home

Return leg German students in Brighton Students arrive 21st November and leave 25th November - staying with guest families in local area Wed arrive & go to host families (note the Youth Hostel students do not host their buddies, unless you would like to) Thurs meet partners at school (please arrive earlier this day!) curry night in Hove (set menu) 6-9pm Thurs/Fri at school they will have 1 day in classes shadowing buddies and 1 day at Lower working with our languages classes as assistants Friday evening ice skating students spend evening with buddies Sat - Pavilion trip @10am and video tour of Brighton - pm with buddies Sun German group goes to London before flying home (optional for our students at own cost)
