It is not intended to be a full accounting of all policies/procedures or need to know items located on the COVID19 info site. Get Room Signage for your unit Aerosolized treatment in progress sign PPE signage: Airborne and contact precautions PPE signage: Droplet and contact precautions (ED/hospital) Review Unit Resource Page and print/post in areas as appropriate Make sure supervisors and charge nurses have this playbook before and during shifts. Alert Staff about change to COVID unit Communicate to your team about the impending change in your unit. Consider different methods based on how soon the information is need (i.e. happening now next shift needs to know versus full staff communication) Send updates when the change is confirmed with the timeline Facilitate Training Distribute the Last page of this document to help your nurses get up to date quickly Consider asking nursing to complete the online course Covid-19 what nurses need to know Determine which items non-nurse roles (HUC/CNA/TECH/UAP ect) would benefit from reviewing prior to patient care and communicate expectation of review Consider highlighting key documents or COVID need-to-knows in each huddle on a rotating basis SIMULATION Simulation team recommends a COVID Code simulation to minimize staff fears and improve comfort level during these critical situations Simulation team is also available to train staff on proning patients.
