Ahead of Time Ahead of Time Prepare yourself to be a conduit of God s healing love. Focus on Jesus with praise and worship. Ask the Holy Spirit to Empty you, Guide you, Empower you. Pray in teams, usually two. Prepare a comfortable seat with tissues available for the prayee. Clergy should be available ask help if you need it. Decide which team member prays first, or take turns. Be conscious of time.
Show Courtesy Show Courtesy Introduce yourselves to each person who comes to you, and ask his or her name. Ask permission before laying on of hands, especially with someone of the opposite sex. As you begin to pray, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you; sometimes an image, word or general intuition may be given to help you pray. Maintain confidentiality! Never mention who was prayed for or the content of the prayers.
During Prayer Time During Prayer Time Train yourself to pray with your eyes open. If you notice something tears, for example ask the person what he or she is experiencing. Pray scripture, if it applies (keep printed favorites available). Bless and praise the Lord. Pray for protection for the prayee and their healing. Healing is often a process; in closing, encourage the prayee to seek continued prayer. Before dispersing, have another team member pray that you will be free from anything imparted to you that you should not carry with you.
Results and Pitfalls Results and Pitfalls Range of Results 1. Immediate and complete healing. 2. Delayed or partial healing. 3. Healing in a different area than requested. 4. No apparent healing. Pitfalls to Avoid 1. Do not tell anyone he or she has an evil spirit of any kind. 2. Do not give advice. 3. Do not tell anyone to stop taking their medicine. 4. Do not say a person will be healed if he or she has enough faith.
