Training Staff
We have 2 fully certified and highly experienced athletic trainers.
Tamantha Wofford (
twofford-ezeji@ccisd.net
) and Delaney Osborne (
DOsborne@ccisd.net
)
They oversee a staff of student trainers who work tirelessly to provide for our athletes.
Our players safety is always our number one priority.
When a player gets injured they must see our training staff.
Our training staff are experts in getting them the proper care they need.
They, along with the players doctor, determine when they are recovered from an injury and able to
play again.
All players are expected to see the training staff for treatment in the mornings when injured. This
puts the athlete in position to get healed up in the best manner possible.
All players are expected to dress out during the athletic period and after school for practice when
injured. They will be put on a rehab program determined by our training staff to get them back to
full strength.
All players and parents are expected to treat our training staff and student trainers with the
utmost respect.

Full respect shown towards all faculty.
Tutorial expectations during “Knight Quest Lunch”
Eligibility requirements
At the 6 week progress report players become ineligible if they have below a 70 in any
class.
They lose eligibility at end of the school day the following Friday.
This doesn’t mean they don’t practice.
They are expected to still be at all team activities. The actual game is what they are
ineligible to participate in.
After 3 weeks if they are passing all their classes they regain eligibility the following Friday
at the end of the school day.
Athletics are never the reason a student-athlete fails a class.
Poor time management, lack of work ethic, etc. are.

Quitting
CCISD District Athletic policy states that if a student-athlete quits a sport
during that sports season that athlete cannot begin workouts/practices with
the next sport he/she wishes to play until the sport the season of the sport
they are quitting has completed.
At Clear Falls we 100% support this policy.
Those athletes that do chose to quit will be placed in PE until their current
sport season ends. Timelines do not matter in this scenario.
One of the biggest values we are trying to teach is that of commitment and
overcoming adversity.

Multi-sport participation
At Clear Falls we encourage our athletes to participate in multiple sports.
It is a fact that it benefits the athlete.
Colleges prefer athletes who compete in multiple sports when it comes to scholarship considerations.
If an athlete wants to play two sports that share the same time frame we as coaches will find a way to make it work for
that athlete.
Basketball, tryouts in late Oct. Those who make the team will begin going to the basketball athletic period after the
freshman football season ends in early November.
Soccer, tryouts in late Nov. Those who make the team will begin going to the soccer athletic period then. Some who
are on JV soccer may stay in off-season football. Determined on a case by case basis.
Baseball, tryouts in late Jan. Those who make the team will begin going to the baseball athletic period then.
Track, after school practices. All football/track athletes stay in the football athletic period for off-season.
Wrestling, after school practices. All football/wrestling athletes stay in the football athletic period for off-season.
The off-season program is highly structured focusing on improving our athletes physical conditioning and mental
toughness.

How does recruiting work?
Each year in the spring and then again in the fall colleges come by to inquire about prospects.
Roughly 50 to 75 schools in a normal year.
We tell them the truth about a prospects character, academics, work ethic, athletic ability, potential, etc.
Those schools want to know if the prospects they are interested in will pass NCAA eligibility requirements.
These requirements can be found at the NCAA Eligibility Center website. Must have a certain core GPA in line with
ACT/SAT test score. Sliding scale.
If an athlete can’t meet those requirements NCAA institutions can’t offer them. NAIA and Junior College’s can still
potentially recruit that athlete.
The schools want to know what type of character the athlete has. In today’s society they don’t want to take many risks
on low character athletes. They will check social media. They will do their research.
COVID and the transfer portal has changed everything drastically.
Ways that schools show interest:
Letters, mean very little. Generally part of a large data base.
Contacting the athletes via phone, twitter, at camps etc., more significant. Shows there is an interest level.
Camps can be a benefit. Must remember that camps are for showcasing a players skills. Camps should not get in the
way of opportunities for players to improve upon their skills by being at our workouts.

What are the characteristics of a successful program?
Best players are the hardest workers.
Those best players then demand excellence from their teammates.
Creates a player-driven environment where all members give their very best at all times for
their teammates. A culture of not wanting to let your teammate down.
This then gets passed on to the younger players when they arrive.
They feel the expectation of continuing that high standard of excellence.
This along with a team of players with high moral character creates success.
Must commit during the summer! Can not afford to lose all we gain from the off-season
during the Summer.
SWAT must be the first priority. Camps and other activities second in the summer.
For this program to be successful the commitment to SWAT must be tremendous!

Fundraisers
Outfitting 200 athletes for football is expensive.
When a player takes the field they are outfitted in over $700 worth of protective equipment.
Each year we update our stock of equipment with the best items on the market.
The only thing we ask our players to purchase is socks, cleats, and the soft shell helmet.
The basic budget provided has to be aided by fundraisers in order to give our athletes the
best equipment, video materials, and training materials needed.
This year we are taking part in a “hour-a-thon” text fundraiser which is the football programs
only fundraiser involving the players. The money raised goes into our football campus
activity account.
The Booster Club needs your support in helping with Booster Club fundraisers throughout
the year.
In addition the Booster Club needs your support in helping to see to it that our student-
athletes are provided with every opportunity to be successful.

  15. Clear Falls Football 2022 Parent Meeting Win The Moment How does recruiting work? Each year in the spring and then again in the fall colleges come by to inquire about prospects. Roughly 50 to 75 schools in a normal year. We tell them the truth about a prospects character, academics, work ethic, athletic ability, potential, etc. Those schools want to know if the prospects they are interested in will pass NCAA eligibility requirements. These requirements can be found at the NCAA Eligibility Center website. Must have a certain core GPA in line with ACT/SAT test score. Sliding scale. If an athlete can t meet those requirements NCAA institutions can t offer them. NAIA and Junior College s can still potentially recruit that athlete. The schools want to know what type of character the athlete has. In today s society they don t want to take many risks on low character athletes. They will check social media. They will do their research. COVID and the transfer portal has changed everything drastically. Ways that schools show interest: Letters, mean very little. Generally part of a large data base. Contacting the athletes via phone, twitter, at camps etc., more significant. Shows there is an interest level. Camps can be a benefit. Must remember that camps are for showcasing a players skills. Camps should not get in the way of opportunities for players to improve upon their skills by being at our workouts.

  16. Clear Falls Football 2022 Parent Meeting Win The Moment What are the characteristics of a successful program? Best players are the hardest workers. Those best players then demand excellence from their teammates. Creates a player-driven environment where all members give their very best at all times for their teammates. A culture of not wanting to let your teammate down. This then gets passed on to the younger players when they arrive. They feel the expectation of continuing that high standard of excellence. This along with a team of players with high moral character creates success. Must commit during the summer! Can not afford to lose all we gain from the off-season during the Summer. SWAT must be the first priority. Camps and other activities second in the summer. For this program to be successful the commitment to SWAT must be tremendous!

  20. Clear Falls Football 2022 Parent Meeting Win The Moment Fundraisers Outfitting 200 athletes for football is expensive. When a player takes the field they are outfitted in over $700 worth of protective equipment. Each year we update our stock of equipment with the best items on the market. The only thing we ask our players to purchase is socks, cleats, and the soft shell helmet. The basic budget provided has to be aided by fundraisers in order to give our athletes the best equipment, video materials, and training materials needed. This year we are taking part in a hour-a-thon text fundraiser which is the football programs only fundraiser involving the players. The money raised goes into our football campus activity account. The Booster Club needs your support in helping with Booster Club fundraisers throughout the year. In addition the Booster Club needs your support in helping to see to it that our student- athletes are provided with every opportunity to be successful.
