The International Internal Auditors (IIA) is making changes to its qualifications and tuition programmes, phasing out the IIA Diploma and introducing the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Qualification in Internal Audit Leadership (QIAL). Transition arrangements are in place for current students, allowing them to choose how to proceed. Existing students can complete their current qualifications, switch to the new qualifications, or begin new modules. Factors to consider include earning credits for completed modules and the importance of the CIA designation if aiming to become chartered. The transition for IIA Diploma students involves options for claiming credits for completed modules towards the CIA exams.
