Remove the tandem housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tandem Housing - Remove". Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism. 1. Drain the power train oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Tighten nut (16) to a torque of 11 1 N m (100 10 lb in) rotating sprockets (17). Loosen nut (16) by one locking position. Rap the hub of sprockets (17). Check the rotational torque and record the torque. Tighten nut (16) until the rotational torque is 4 1 N m (35 10 lb in) above the recorded torque.
