TO THE USER How to use this manual Read the manual before starting to use your tractor. Consult your dealer if you require any further information. This manual contains important information about how to work safely with your Case tractor, and about how to set it up and maintain it for reliable operation. To make this information easy for you to find, this manual is sub- divided into separate chapters, as shown in the table of contents. The information about the tractor is arranged into four chapters: 1. INSTRUMENTS AND OPERATING ELEMENTS - This illustrates the layout of all the operating elements. 2. WORKING INSTRUCTIONS - General tips for daily work with the tractor, e.g. starting/stopping the tractor, operation of the transmission etc. 3. FIELD WORK - This chapter contains tips about various working applications, specifically involving the use of equipment, e.g. three-point linkage, rear PTO shaft etc. 4. TYRES/WHEELS/TRACK WIDTHS/BALLASTING - This section lists settings for various different tractor applications, e.g. tyre pressures, track widths etc. Tractor maintenance is divided into two chapters: 1. LUBRICATION/MAINTENANCE - Regular maintenance intervals. 2. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - General maintenance instructions for the electrical system. IMPORTANT : To find specific points about your vehicle in this manual, please refer to the alphabetically arranged index at the back of the manual. Positional indications, e.g. front, back, right and left, are as viewed by someone on the driving seat looking in the direction of travel. Do NOT permit yourself or anyone else to drive this vehicle or carry out maintenance work on it until you or that other person has read this manual. Only employ experienced drivers who have demonstrated their ability to work with and maintain this vehicle properly and safely. This tractor, with its standard equipment and the authorised accessories, is intended for agricultural use etc. This vehicle is NOT to be used for any applications or purposes other than those described in this manual. Contact an authorised dealer about any modifications, additions or conversion work which may be required to enable your vehicle to comply with your national directives and safety requirements. For custom bodies the approval or permission of the manufacturer is required. Product liability will be declined if any unauthorised modifications are made. SAFETY/SAFETY PANELS SAFETY/SAFETY PANELS SAFETY MESSAGES AND SAFETY PANELS SAFETY ASPECTS Safety-related aspects of directive 2010/52EU Section 4.1 A Ergonomic position of operator's seat For maximum comfort and an ergonomic position, ensure that the seat is adjusted correctly before starting up the vehicle. This reduces the risks of whole-body vibrations. For specific guidance on adjusting the seat, see page 46 and the following pages. For further information on the dangers associated with whole-body vibrations, see page 32. B Heating, ventilation and air conditioning Read the functional specifications of the air-conditioning system, heating and ventilation carefully on page 109 and the following. The ventilation system must be used in accordance with the specifications to safeguard the protective effect against hazardous substances offered by the cab; for further information, see page 42. To achieve the required fresh air volume, the air-conditioning system must be operated at full fan speed with all doors, windows and hatches kept closed. C Switching the engine on and off To operate the vehicle safely, you must have read and fully understood the information provided on starting up and switching off the engine and on operating the machine safely. See page 97, page 105 and the following pages. D Emergency exits The rear window of your tractor serves as an emergency exit and is indicated as such by a corresponding safety information sign. See page 44. E Entering and exiting the cab WARNING Fall hazard! Jumping up or down from the cab can lead to injury. Always face the machine when climbing up or down from the cab. Use the handrails and steps provided and climb up and down carefully and in an unhurried manner. Maintain three points of contact with the machine at all times to prevent the risk of falling: Both hands on the handrails and one foot on the steps, or one hand on one handrail and both feet on the steps. Failure to do so can lead to serious or fatal injuries. W0141A F Articulated tractors Not applicable to this tractor! G Special tools No special tools are required for machine maintenance. For maintenance tasks other than those detailed in this manual, please contact your authorized dealer. 13

Read all of the information regarding operation, lubrication, maintenance and repair before operating, lubricating, servicing or repairing this machine. Failure to do so can lead to serious or fatal injuries. D0010A DANGER Improper operation or maintenance performed incorrectly may result in accidents. Any unauthorized alterations performed on this machine can have serious consequences. In the event that components need to be added to the machine, or alternations or modifications made, please refer to an authorized dealer. Do not perform any type of modification that has not been expressly prescribed. Failure to follow these instructions can lead to serious or fatal injuries. D0030A WARNING Improper operation or maintenance performed incorrectly may result in accidents. Read and observe all safety notices in the section SAFETY INFORMATION before carrying out maintenance or servicing work or repairs. Read and observe the special maintenance instructions concerning the components on which you wish to perform work before beginning maintenance work on the machine. Failure to do so can lead to serious or fatal injuries. W0138A WARNING Improper operation or maintenance performed incorrectly may result in accidents. If you do not fully understand the necessary procedures to follow for specific maintenance routines or you are unsure whether you are able to perform the work correctly, it is recommended that you refer the work to an authorized repairer for completion. Failure to do so can lead to serious or fatal injuries. W0157A WARNING Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. Protective clothing must be worn when operating or performing maintenance work on the machine, and the relevant personal protective equipment prescribed for each task must be used. Personal protective equipment prescribed under certain circumstances comprises safety shoes, eye and/or face protection, safety helmets, heavy-duty gloves, respiratory masks and ear protection. Failure to follow these instructions regarding protective equipment can lead to serious or fatal injuries. W0353A I Hydraulic lines Although a regular inspection of the hydraulic hoses is necessary, the operator is not required to perform maintenance on these; see page 238. J Towing the tractor WARNING Take care to avoid injury! Performing towing operations incorrectly can result in accidents. Observe the procedure described in this manual when towing. SAFETY/SAFETY PANELS K Jacking points Jacking points for lifting the machine are indicated on page 203. L Batteries and fuel tank Observe all precautionary measures indicated below. See page 237 for specific maintenance procedures with respect to the battery. See page 212 and the following pages for instructions concerning refuelling. WARNING Explosive gas! Batteries may release explosive hydrogen gas and other vapors during the charging process. Ensure that the charging area is thoroughly ventilated. Keep sparks, naked flames and other sources of ignition well away from the battery. Do not charge battery if frozen. Failure to follow these instructions can lead to serious or fatal injuries. W0005A WARNING Risk of explosion from battery gas! Proceed as follows to prevent a risk of explosion: 1. Always disconnect the minus cable (-) from the battery first. 2. Always reconnect the minus cable (-) to the battery last. 3. Do not short-circuit the battery terminal with metal objects. 4. Do not perform any type of welding or grinding procedure or smoke near the battery. Failure to follow these instructions can lead to serious or fatal injuries. W0011A WARNING Battery acid causes serious burns. The battery contains sulfuric acid. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Action on contact (external surfaces): Rinse the affected areas with water. Action on contact (eyes): Rinse eyes with clean water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately. Action on ingestion: Drink large quantities of water or milk. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention immediately. Failure to follow these instructions can lead to serious or fatal injuries. W0111A WARNING Fire risk! Observe the following precautionary measures on handling diesel fuel: 1. Do not smoke. 2. Never attempt to fill the fuel tank with the engine running. 3. Clear up any spillages of fuel immediately. Failure to follow these instructions can lead to serious or fatal injuries. W0099A WARNING Fire risk! Do not add petrol, alcohol or fuel mixtures to diesel fuel (except where recommended to do so in this manual). Fuel mixtures may increase the risk of explosion or fire. Failure to follow these instructions can lead to serious or fatal injuries. W0401A WARNING Fuel vapors are explosive and flammable. Do not smoke while handling fuels. Keep fuels well away from naked flames or sparks. Switch the engine off and remove the ignition key before performing maintenance. Perform all work in well-ventilated areas. Clear up any fuel spillages immediately. Failure to follow these instructions can lead to serious or fatal injuries. W0904A 15
