Communicate your appreciation and the positive impacts of the support Giver responsibility: Respond to the brief effectively Establish the benefits of participating and supporting Resist killing with kindness listen! Tailor support to their needs Ensure same level of quality and professionalism Allow for change and learning Evaluate benefits and impacts See it as an equal relationship there are many business benefits to providing support Be clear on the business benefit not just the PR opportunity
Golden Rules It s a 2-way relationship with mutual benefits on both sides There is a clear purpose and structure for activity Sharing takes place lessons learned, skills, experience, appreciation Support needs to be tailored to the giver and receiver There is regular dialogue, feedback and change Support is treated with same respect, management and professionalism as paid support Galvanise support around an issue not just a need or problem
