Brownie Flavor Experiment by Emma Clancy

DIFFERENT BROWNIE
FAVORITES

By Emma Clancy

WHAT MY PROJECT IS

I ADORE baking and science, so I put them together.
Everything has a connection to science, especially
baking. What I did is I made 5 batches of brownies and
using the same recipe but only changing the chocolate
chips (or adding none). Then I surveyed my school
friends. I got this idea from my teacher who used an
example like mine but with bread

THE MATERIALS USED

Ghirardelli chocolate chips
Good and gather chocolate chips
Guittard chocolate chips
Nestle chocolate chips
Butter
Eggs
Vanilla
Flour
Cocoa powder
salt

SOME INFO

Independent variable: brownie base
Dependent variable: the favorite among
people
Hypothesis: is my favorite batch of
brownies the same as my friends? I think
so. (Not true. Everyone else has their own
opinion

THE BATCHES/CHOCOLATE CHIPS I USED

Ghirardelli
Nestle toll house
Target generic brand (good and gather)
And Good ol' Guittard
And then I did a batch with no chocolate chips

THE RECIPE

The recipe I used is tasty's "The Best Fudgy Brownies".
All my favorite recipes come from there and I loved these. I
didn’t have enough space to type it on here, but you can
gladly find it online.
AND THE WINNER IS......

The winner surprisingly was the no chocolate chips. Me and my family
thought otherwise ,but it won by a landslide.

WHY IT WON

The recipe called for one type of chocolate chip, and to melt it. Since we used the same
base, we melted ALL the chocolate into one bowl. People loved this because they said it
wasn’t overpowered by chocolate and the chocolate chips made it harder to chew. Because
we left them sit for a day before school, they weren't technically "fresh".

THANKS SO MUCH AND HAVE A GREAT
DAY :)
