01: Define the Problem Students in middle school spend too much time using technology. Activity: Think-Jot-Pair-Share to discuss: Do you struggle with creating a technology balance in your life? What does technology balance look like for you?

3: Identify Causes What causes middle school students to spend so much time using technology? Information Entertainment Interaction Education Students use technology for information such as the news, weather, directions ect. Students use technology to entertain themselves, by watching tv.movies/youtube, playing games ect. Students use technology to interact with peers. 4. Examine an Existing Policy Device Policy The school uses Yondr pouches for the students to lock their devices in when they enter the school building, Devices cannot be unlocked until dismissal.
