The Achievement and Integration Plan aims to promote racial and economic integration, enhance student achievement, provide equitable educational opportunities, and reduce academic disparities in Minnesota public schools. The program sets specific goals related to closing proficiency gaps, increasing graduation rates, and fostering intercultural partnerships. Progress is tracked through various strategies such as math tutoring and the REACH program. While some goals have been met, others are still works in progress as outlined in this report.

  1. Achievement and Integration Plan July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020

The purpose of the achievement and integration program is to pursue racial and economic integration, increase student achievement, create equitable educational opportunities, and reduce academic disparities based on students diverse racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds in Minnesota public schools.

  3. Goal #1 Goal Statement Achievement or Integration Goal? Baseline Year 2 (2018-2019) Actual On Track The proficiency GAP between the FRP and Non-FRP students enrolled the full academic year for all grades tested within the Perham-Dent Public Schools on all state Math accountability tests (MCA s/MTAS) will decrease from 15.7% in 2018 to 12% by 2020. Achievement 15.7% As measured by the 2019 MCA Results, the proficiency gap between non-FRP and FRP students enrolled for the full academic year for all grades tested with the Perham-Dent Public Schools on all state Math accountability went from 15.7% to 16.8% Check one of the following: __ On Track _X_ Not on Track __ Goal Met 3

  4. Goal #2 Goal Statement Achievement or Integration Goal? Baseline Year 2 (2018-2019) Actual On Track Graduation rate for students eligible for free and reduced price lunch will increase from 67.7% in 2018 to 72% in 2020.   5. Goal #3 Goal Statement Achievement or Integration Goal? Baseline Year 2 (2018-2019) Actual On Track Intercultural Cross District Classroom Partnerships: The cultural competency (or ability to work with peers from different racial and economic backgrounds) of Perham-Dent secondary students will increase from 50% in 2018 to 65% in 2020 as measured by pre and post surveys developed by our integration collaborative. Integration 50% No relevant data since the goal from this plan was developed in the Spring of 2019. Check one of the following: __ On Track __ Not on Track __ Goal Met 5

  6. Achievement Strategies 1. Math Tutoring Strategy (Goal 1) a. Work closely with SAT to identify students in need of math help and who fall within the deficiency gap. b. Students will receive continued support through math tutoring, REACH, Middle School Advisory, Targeted Services, elementary interventions, and high school power hour. REACH Program (Goal 2) a. Provides specialized and individual academic coaching, goal setting, and intentional relationship building between students, teachers, and Student Success Coordinator. b. REACH placement is based on academic history, behavioral needs, social needs, and emotional needs, with academics being the priority 2. 6

  7. Integration Strategies 1. Intercultural Cross-District Classroom Partnerships (Goal 3) a. Interactive technology will be utilized to virtually connect students from all participating districts. b. ESL Workshop-We are making an effort to visit with students in the classroom to gain an understanding of cultural awareness. We are working closely with our ELL students in the classroom to increase cultural awareness and cultural competency throughout our district. Furthermore, we want to assist them in establishing relationships with students and teachers with backgrounds other than their own. c. Through these efforts, we are planning an ELL Event in the Spring to invite students from our collaborative to showcase their culture to community members and school personnel. Cultural Competency Professional Learning for Staff (Goal 3) a. School Leaders will have the opportunity to learn about equity within our school communities with the goal of educating about racial literacy and increasing awareness about racial diversity. 2. 7
