4. Membership Each State is allowed 3 delegates to the AASHTO SCOM Pavements account for approximately 50% of every State DOT budget. One delegate per state minimum recommended for PTWG membership.

6. SCOM VISION The SCOM will be the leader for preserving and maintaining a world classhighway system.

7. SCOM Mission: The mission of the Subcommittee on Maintenance is to provide technical and policy guidance to the member states and support to the AASHTO organization to preserve and maintain a healthy and reliable highway infrastructure that meets the performance expectations of its customers.

8. 2011 SCOM GOALS 1. Improve the health/condition of the highway system. 2. Improve highway safety by reducing risk to travelers and workers. 3. Ensure the reliability of traffic flow. 4. Promote accountability and transparency through performance management. 5. Ensure a well qualified and competent workforce. 6. Promote environmental stewardship and ensure compliance.

Research Projects For the completed projects shaded in gray that are assigned to your TWG, we would like to get your TWG's recommended action on what you believe needs to take place now that the project has been completed. Generally, that action would be to either a) leave it as-is as an NCHRP document posted on the AASHTO Maintenance website or b) move it forward for balloting by the SCOM, where it would then become a published AASHTO document.

21. 2012 AASHTO TIG Technology Solicitation AASHTO is pleased to announce the 2012 Solicitation for Focus Technologies. Innovative technologies are accepted for consideration from State and local departments of transportation, organizational units of AASHTO (AASHTO members include member departments and associate members), and the Federal Highway Administration. Interested producers of innovative technologies must work with eligible submitters who have successfully used these technologies.
