Welcome to the 6th-grade orientation at Sylmar Leadership Academy where students are encouraged to embody the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The foundation of this school is to inspire, empower, and lead students towards success. The daily schedule includes classes in Math, Science, English, History, PE, and various electives. Students are urged to be proactive and keep in touch with teachers for distant learning sessions. When back on campus, students will be allowed inside the building after the morning bell. Embrace the opportunity to Inspire, empower, and lead throughout your middle school journey.

  11. IMPORTANT MIDDLE SCHOOL FACT: 6th ,7th & 8th grade teachers teach an average of 110 students per day. This is a big difference from the 25-30 students in elementary classes. Parents, it is so important for you to stay informed and stay in contact with your child s teachers. This is when they need you the most. We recommend that parents take the lead and maintain communication with your child s teachers with email, Remind App, phone calls and parent conferences.   12. GRADES, WORK HABITS AND COOPERATION You receive letter grades on your progress reports. A B C D F You will receive more information on grading at Back to School Night in August. You also receive a letter grade in Work Habits & Cooperation E = Excellent S = Satisfactory U = Unsatisfactory Your grades are very important. In Secondary, we recognize grade point averages at two Honor Roll Award Assemblies during the year. 20 week Fall Final and 20 week Spring Final Report Cards.
