  4. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING CLSF IS RUN BY A BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND PAID STAFF. THE CURRENT BOARD MEMBERS AND STAFF CAN BE FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE. THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD ARE ELECTED BY THE MEMBERSHIP AT OUR ANNUAL MEETING, WHICH IS HELD IN FEBRUARY.

The Crystal Lake Soccer Federation was founded in 1976 CLSF is incorporated as a not-for-profit organization, and has IRS charitable status Self contained Recreational Program Region 2 Five Star Program Recreational Philosophy in Coach s Manual For players wanting to expand their abilities CLSF offers a strong competitive program Force

  6. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING WHAT IS CLSF ? Rec League Program registers by grade U5 & U6 (Pre-School and Kindergarten) - beginners program; small-sided games; small fields; parents officiate; coaches allowed on field U7 to U-19 1stthrough 12th more structured; coaches not allowed on field and may not assist in ball placement, positioning, throw- ins, etc; trained refs provided by CLSF TOPSoccer Soccer for special needs children FORCE program U8-U23 - teams rostered based on dob as set by USSF; tryouts in May/June

  7. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING WHAT IS CLSF ? Academy Program For players kindergarten through second grade; play on a rec team as well as academy team Select Program Players play on rec team; 12 additional practices with Force coach; two tournaments; tryouts required

  8. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING No standings kept; scores reported to assist in scheduling a more equitable spring season CLSF DOES NOT supply any kind of trophy or award. Any awards given are up to the individual teams. Two 8-week sessions Fall: Sept-October Spring: April-May (usually ends first Saturday in June) ZERO tolerance policy on abusive behavior by coaches, assistant coaches, players, and parents

  12. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING SCHEDULES/RAINOUTS/MAKE-UPS Fall Schedules posted by August 15 Game Scheduling Requests email to recleague@clsf.org by 7/31 Rainouts/Cancellations/Make-up Games 8 WEEK season not 8 GAME season Inclement weather may cause SOME but not necessarily all games to be cancelled it depends on the fields, as some drain better Inclement weather, SHOW UP at Lippold unless CLSF website posting says game cancelled Do NOT cancel a game on your own. You will not be allowed to make it up. Game changes or reschedules are NOT allowed

  13. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING SCHEDULES/RAINOUTS/MAKE-UPS Odd team division schedules 5 Team division Each team will have one Saturday double header during the first 5 weeks Two teams will have a bye on the 6thor 7thweek and will play each other on the eighth week 7 team division Each team will have one Saturday double header There season will end in seven weeks 9 team division Each team will have one Saturday bye Season will end in 9 weeks

  14. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING DUAL PARTICIPATION POLICY Competitive (Travel)Players may participate on a CLSF Recreational League CLSF must be advised of the competitive player's status at registration or prior to being rostered with a rec team Failure to notify may result in the removal of the player from the rec league or reassignment to another rec team. Competitive team players will be distributed equitably among rec teams. CLSF may not be able to honor requests by competitive players for placement on specific rec teams.

  15. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING GUEST PLAYERS If a coach finds that his/her team will not have enough players to field a full side, including substitutes, players from another team, in the same age group may be used Boys CANNOT be used as guest players on girls teams Competitive players may not be used as guest players If a team ends up with too many guest players, the guest players should be offered to the opposing team, to assure both teams have an equal number of players

  16. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING REFEREE TRAINING GAMES Prior to each season there will be a need for teams to participate in referee training games. The number of teams and age groups needed will vary depending on the number of new referees in that age group.   26. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING Code of Conduct Agreed to when registering as a coach Full document in coaches handbook Highlights I understand that nothing is gained in running up the score, so I will do all I can to prevent this situation. Running up the score is considered a goal differential of 6 goals or more. I understand that as coach, I am responsible for not only my own behavior but also the behavior of my team members, their parents, and fans at CLSF games. No negative communication between coaches. We expect there to be positive and fun communication. However, if you feel a coach is doing something against CLSF policy, you do not confront the coach directly. You should contact the Rec League director or administrator. If a coach should confront you, ignore the opposing coach and notify the Rec League Director or administrator.

  27. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING COACHES HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHTS RISK MANAGEMENT All coaches must complete a criminal background check online via our website providing the relevant information. If a record appears or suggests participating children could be at risk, a report will be made by the Administrator to the Risk Management Committee, who will then make a determination regarding that person s eligibility.

  28. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING COACHES HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHTS RISK MANAGEMENT All background checks and the information contained therein are confidential. The results will only be seen by the CLSF Administrator or if necessary by the CLSF Risk Management Committee. No coach or assistant coach may participate in a practice or at a game unless s/he has a current criminal background check on file.

  29. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING COACHES HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHTS RISK MANAGEMENT The Administrator will email you with instructions on completing the background check. It can be done through your family account and is free of charge to coaches and assistant coaches (CLSF picks up the cost). No private electronic or social media communication with individual players use broadcast texts or emails to the entire team.

  30. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING COACHES HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHTS RISK MANAGEMENT In the event it is necessary to direct a communication to an individual player, make sure to include parents. Do not be alone with a player. Do not post rosters, pictures with names, practice schedules or anything that can identify a player on a public site

  33. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING COACHES HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHTS PRACTICE FIELDS No practices, scrimmages, or exhibition games may be scheduled on the playing fields at Lippold Park Practice areas with goals are located at Lippold Park, West Elementary, and Wyndwood Park Use of practice areas (Lippold Park, other parks, schools) for practices, scrimmages, or exhibition games is on a first-come, first-served basis Teams may not practice in training area west of Soccerhouse unless team is being trained during a session scheduled with a CLSF professional trainer

  34. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING COACHES HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHTS PRACTICE SESSIONS Dates, times, and locations are determined by the coach Hold two practices per week 45-90 minutes per session depending on age level Provides players with best learning opportunity All sessions should be age appropriate No child should be left alone at the conclusion of any practice. A coach or assistant coach must remain at practice until all players have been picked up.

  36. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING COACHES HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHTS ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY CLSF has a zero tolerance policy on abusive behavior by coaches, assistant coaches, players, and parents towards other coaches, assistant coaches, players, or parents.   37. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING COACHES HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHTS GOAL SAFETY All goalsmust be properly anchored at all games and practices Coach or assistant must fill out form for each practice or game in which goals are present, verifying that the goal was properly anchored and in otherwise safe condition A parent must also sign off Coach maintains the log

  38. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING COACHES HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHTS INJURY REPORTING Forms are available at Soccerhouse During a game Come to Soccerhouse and fill out the report At a practice Use the form and turn it in ASAP In the event of a serious injury, the coach should contact Administrator immediately Fill out form completely and as detailed as possible

  39. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING COACHES HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHTS EMERGENCY PROCEDURE Emergency policy detailed in coaches handbook Review it! Follow it to avoid multiple calls and calls which give wrong information to the emergency dispatcher Tell your parents!

  40. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING COACHES HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHTS SEVERE WEATHER PROCEDURE When Thor Guard alarm goes off clear the field Strobe light flashes on top of Soccerhouse Reenter the field only if the all clear is given 3 five-second blast sounds If game is interrupted by alarm Players and spectators go immediately to vehicles Coaches go to Soccerhouse where decision is made to resume or terminate game If prior to the game Coaches should come to Soccerhouse Do not wait in car

  41. 2021-2022 COACHES MEETING UNIFORMS Uniform pick-up date to be announced due to delivery delays beyond our control You will be given extra uniforms Hand out uniforms so that everyone gets the best fitting uniform No additional uniforms will be ordered
