In NSW public schools, we are fortunate to have access to staff with specific skillsets supporting student wellbeing. All members of the school community have a role to play in promoting wellbeing and mental health of students. 4

NSW Department of Education Stepped Care Model The stepped care approach can assist with planning how to best support students based on their needs This model recognises that support for students wellbeing is a shared responsibility involving various staff members, depending on their role and the needs of each student. The role each person plays in supporting a young person may vary according to the needs of the individual person. 7
