One person lays on the ground on their side. 
Another student hands them a ball or object to
hold behind their back
Once the person on the ground is holding the
object, they then try to stand up
Crew members must ensure that the person
does not fall but cannot help them stand
Complete the reflection exercise on the
worksheet.

Simulates an older person who has lost strength in their arms
Simulates a person who has lost a hand and has a prosthetic limb

Sit down and untie your shoelaces
Use the tongs in one hand and retie your laces
Complete the reflection exercises on your worksheet.
Blindfold one member of your crew
As a crew, set up a simple obstacle course using the cones provided
while the person cannot see
Using only your voices, talk the person through the obstacle course
Make sure someone is next to the person to ensure their safety, but
this person cannot speak
Simulates a person with a severe vision impairment
