  2. WHAT IS RESILIENCE? Bouncing back - the ability to recover quickly from difficulties. Being positive, even when things don t seem to be going well Believing in yourself and your goals. Not being afraid to make mistakes. Being able to handle tricky situations. Trying your best, even if you don t think you ll succeed. Never giving up, even when things are really tough!

  3. How do we build resilience? 1. We can build our resilience muscles by practicing resilience. 2. How? 3. Be positive. 4. Remind yourself of all the things you are good at. 5. You are brave and will try new things. 6. It s ok to ask for help. 7. These are just some of the ways we can build our resilience, there are many more

  4. Do these phrases show resilience or not? I will never be good at this Laugh it off Let s ask for some help Massive fail I can t do it yet! Let s see what we can do! I am rubbish at this Tomorrow is another day I can t do it! Always try your best This will get better Never give up!

  6. J K Rowling 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. J. K. Rowling had a really tough time before she became successful. She was depressed, had no money and no job. Her first Harry Potter book was rejected by the publisher. Did she give up? No. She bounced back! She sent it to lots of publishers but it was rejected again 12 times in total! Did she give up? No. She bounced back! She kept going, she worked hard to achieve her goal. Eventually, J. K. Rowling succeeded and is now one of the best selling authors of all time. Why? Because she didn t give up! She bounced back! 6. 7. 8. 9. It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all - in which case, you fail by default. --- J.K. Rowling

  8. Justin Bieber 1. Justin Bieber became famous, all thanks to the internet. 2. Lots of people were really mean to him! 3. Did he give up? No. He beliebed in himself! 4. The bullying continued. People spread lies and rumours about him, and hacking all his videos on YouTube. 5. Did he give up? No. He beliebed in himself! 6. Every mistake he made (and yes, there were a few), was plastered all over the press. 7. Did he give up? No. He beliebed in himself! He got back up every time he was knocked down.

  9. Resilience That s not to say that by simply being resilient, we will become rich and famous like J. K. Rowling or Justin Bieber. It wasn t always easy for them. It s just that we only see the good bits, not all the hard work and determination that has gone before .

  11. Resilience is Bouncing back when things go wrong. Recognising your strengths/talents. Not worrying about what other people think. Being able to handle tricky situations. Staying positive. Beliebing in yourself. Always trying your best. NEVER GIVING UP!
