OBJECTIVE 1 Build a common set of Web Accessibility Conformance Test (ACT) Rules from W3C, to provide an interpretation for evaluation tools and methodologies based on the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
OBJECTIVE 2 Help increase the level of automation in web accessibility evaluation through defining test rules, and bleeding edge technologies which are increasingly available today
ACCESSIBILITY CONFORMANCE TESTING (ACT) Test rules for automated and manual testing methodologies Conform to the W3C ACT Rules Format 1.0 specification Published by W3C Accessibility Guidelines Working Group: Consistent interpretation of WCAG 2 Demonstrated by implementations Addresses real accessibility issues Includes test cases to help validate your implementations

ACT RULES DEVELOPMENT Develop 70 rules through the W3C ACT Rules Community Group Automated, semi-automated, and manual rules for WCAG 2.0/2.1 Implement automated rules in three open source testing engines: Alfa by Siteimprove aXe-core by Deque QualWeb by University of Lisbon Validate test rules on a selection of real (but archived) websites Support formal adoption of these rules through the W3C Process
WCAG-EM REPORT TOOL Website Accessibility Conformance Evaluation Methodology (WCAG-EM) Methodology and report tool developed in 2014 with EC funding Updated in this project to support WCAG 2.1 as well as 2.0 New feature to import results, for example from automated tools Updating entire codebase to better support internationalisation
ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENTS Developing an Accessibility Statement (new WAI resource) Guidance with best practice on providing accessibility statements Accompanied by example statements and statements generator Compatible with guidance for the EU Web Accessibility Directive Exploring suggested improvements and feature requests for tool
TEST DATA BROWSER Proof-of-concept of a tool for browsing evaluation results, comparing data from different sources and benchmarking accessibility ranks. Processes large amounts of results stored in open data format Data analysis based on use cases developed in the community Explores basic visualizations and analytics, including high-level aggregations as well as drilling down to specific website results
PORTUGUESE AND NORWEGIAN OBSERVATORIES Real-life demonstrators to show feasibility of project results: ACT Rules to provide transparent documentation and consistency Open source test engines to allow easier uptake and contribution Supporting tools to allow implementation by the EU public bodies Common format for open data to allow the exchange of test results
