  2. What is my educational background and experience?

  3. Education & Experience 15 years as of recruitment experience, 10 as a technical recruiter. 3 years of IT experience. Bachelor of Arts (BA) Communication from Michigan State University.   4. What is the compensation range for the IT field?

  5. Compensation Compensation varies based on the responsibilities of the position, seniority, location, and education. Companies create a low, mid, and high range for positions before starting recruitment. We will be using Robert Half s 2021 Salary Guide as an example. https://www.roberthalf.com/salary- guide/technology

  6. What does a typical IT work day look like?

  7. IT Work Day I m a contractor and a freelancer so my work day varies. Not everyone in IT works this way, but contracting is increasingly common. More people in IT are freelancing . IT consultants can work on a W2 (permanent or temporary), 1099 or as a corporation.   8. What tools do you use for your job?

  9. Tools I have an educational background in cybersecurity but lately I have been working as a developer. I have a laptop computer and two monitors. Code editor and Kite (AI for code editors). E-Commerce websites are really popular now due to the pandemic. I have been focusing on Shopify because there is a lot of work. Continuing education is very important, especially as a freelancer. https://www.udemy.com/

  10. What advice do you have for students?

  11. Advice General Advice Educational Resources Pursue what you love to do eight or more hours a day! An IT career is very involved and can easily take up all your time between your work day, continuing education and side projects. Make sure you really want to do it before committing. If you decide to pursue a career in IT your job prospects will be very strong and it is a rewarding career. All of the time and effort you expend will help everyday people and businesses be successful. There are stressful times but when you see the impact of your work it is heartwarming.
