Student Preferences for Spring 2022 Instructional Modality Survey Results

A districtwide student survey was sent out via text to gather preferences for the preferred instructional modality for Spring 2022. The survey targeted currently enrolled SMCCCD students who opted-in to receive text messages, resulting in a 38% response rate. Preferences by primary campus showed varying degrees of preference for on-campus and online classes, with some students indicating no clear preference or not planning to enroll in Spring 2022. A separate Spanish language text survey was also conducted for CAN students. Visual representations of survey data are provided in the images shared.

1. Districtwide Student Survey Sent via Text about Preferred Spring 2022 Modality Sent out on August 25, 2022

Survey Sample The survey was sent to all currently enrolled SMCCCD students with status is not HS student, who have a phone number on record, and who opted-in to receive text messages (per CCC Apply). In total, the text went to 7,978 students and 3,056 responses for a 38% response rate. Note: primary campus was used to report on behalf of the colleges the college where a student is taking the majority of their units and/or getting their financial aid that term.
