CHAIR HISTORY The modern hair of the "History of Kazakhstan" was established on September 30, 1958 on the basis of the decree of the Ministry of Higher Education of the USSR of May 21, 1958 on the formation of the Chair of History of the Kazakh SSR. A great contribution to the formation and development of the department was made by its first head - an outstanding historian, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Bekmakhanov Yermukhan Bekmakhanovich. He headed the chair in 1958-1966. In the following years 1967-1970, the chair was headed by associate professor Khakim Khabiyev, in 1971-1980 Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Saken Menzhazovich Kenzhebaev, since 1981, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Kadyr Zhamanbaevich Zhamanbaev, in 1987- 2001 Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Dina Isabaevna Dulatova.

For students of the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology, general courses are taught: Ancient and Medieval History of Kazakhstan, New History of Kazakhstan, History of Soviet Kazakhstan, Elective Courses: Historical Geography of Kazakhstan, History of Ethnocultural Processes in Central Asia, Science and the System of Islamic Education in the History of Kazakhstan and Central Asia, the nomadic empires of Eurasia, the Intellectual History of Kazakhstan, Kliometriya, Historical Psychology, Historical Macrosociology, etc.

International relations: Moscow State University (Russia), Russian State Humanitarian University; State University of the Russian Federation, Istanbul University (Turkey), Gazi University(Turkey), Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Poland), Bielefeld University (Germany), George August University of Gottingen (Germany), University of Wisconsin- Madison(USA), University of Rome, Sapienza University of Rome.

  7. Place of practice and possible employment: City and district administration, public funds, research centers, NIS, lyceums, gymnasiums, Archives of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Central State Archive, Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Graduates of the educational program are employed in research institutions, government bodies, secondary and special educational institutions (lyceums and gymnasiums, colleges), organizations and cultural institutions (museums, libraries), archival Institutions and publishing houses, public organizations and foundations.
