This guidance provides helpful hints and tips for parents of Primary 1 students, including reminders about sending jackets, gym kits, ordering lunches, checking bags, providing snacks, and engaging with P7 buddies. It also includes website and app suggestions for additional learning resources. Stay informed and prepared for your child's Primary 1 journey!

  1. Welcome to Primary 1

  2. Helpful Hints and Tips

  3. Please send your child with a Jacket to school every day Where possible please avoid children bringing in umbrellas.

  4. Gym Kits Please ensure your child has both an indoor and outdoor PE kit. Indoor Kit Shorts T-shirt Indoor gym shoes that all these items can be stored in together. Outdoor Kit Trousers/Joggers Socks Outdoor old shoes Jumper/Hoody You only need one gym bag

  5. Gym Gym days in Term 1 are on Wednesday and Friday. It would be really helpful if on these days your child could wear clothes that are easier to change in and out of e.g. a polo T-shirt instead of a shirt. Please try to avoid shoes with laces which the children cannot tie themselves.

  6. Ordering Lunches For primary 1-3 school dinners are free. Please order lunches through parent pay Should you require support please contact the office.

  7. Check Bags Please check your child s bag daily for letters and completed work.

  8. Snack Please give your child one piece of snack for their break. If possible avoid Tupperware boxes.

  9. P7 Buddies The Primary 1 classes also get to work with their P7 buddies once a week. This session is based on the older children providing support for the Primary 1 classes. This can be emotional support (Sharing their experiences ideas and thoughts), practical support (Classroom based activities) and developing positive relationships with older role models within the school. The P7 children also support the primary 1 s at break and lunch times.
