League tournaments, also known as Round Robin tournaments or the Berger System, involve every team playing against each other regardless of win or loss. This system includes Single League Tournaments where teams play once and Double League Tournaments where teams play twice. The advantages include fair competition, ample opportunities for teams to showcase skills, and ease of team selection. However, league tournaments can be time-consuming, expensive, and pose challenges for distant teams due to travel and costs. Overall, while these tournaments offer players the chance to improve, they require significant planning and resources.

1. LEAGUE TOURNAMENT League tournament is also called Round Robin tournament .Mr. Berger was the first person to imagine the league tournament . This tournament is also called Berger System . In this tournament every teams plays with every other team irrespective of victory or defeat.

2. TYPES OF LEAGUE TOURNAMENT 1) Single League Tournament 2) Double League Tournament Single League Tournament- In this tournament every teams plays with every other team once. Formula for matches N (N-1)/2 Double League Tournament- In this type of tournament every team plays with every other team twice.

3. ADVANTAGES OF LEAGUE TOURNAMENT 1)Only strong or deserving teams gets victory in the tournament. 2) Every team gets maximum opportunities to show its efficiency or performance. 3) In such type tournament the sports officials do not face any difficulty while selecting or determining the appropriate player or team . 4) They have enough time to watch the efficiency and performance of a player.

4. Continue 5) Ample number of opportunities are available to the players to improve their performance. DISADVANGES OF LEAGUE TOURNAMENT 1) It requires more time. 2) It costs more. 3) The teams coming from far and wide generally face more problem because such tournaments waste their time and money.
