Scope
 
This seminar will cover the necessary steps to use Swiss-Manager (and
Chess-Results.com) for
An individual Swiss System Tournament – many of the skills are
applicable to Round Robin Tournaments and Team Tournaments
Local, National and International Levels
 
Swiss-Manager spricht Deutsch
 
Swiss-Manager is a piece of software created by Heinz Herzog, an
Austrian player
We are going to download and use the English language version
Some of the error messages and other messages appear only in
German, and have not been translated into English
Some of the phrases used in the menus are English translations of
German, and as a result are not ideal descriptors of what can be
contained within
A number of people have made suggestions over the years which
have been bolted on; as a result, the software is not as “pure” as it
used to be!
 
Installing Swiss-Manager
 
Go to 
https://swiss-manager.at/download.aspx?lan=1
 
lan=1 at the end of the URL means the webpage will be in English
 
Download “
Swiss-Manager Unicode Version for Windows 7 and newer
(11.01.2020, Build 13.0.1.61, Filegröße 5.168.128)” – note the version
build changes regularly, and was accurate at the time of writing this
slide!
 
Installing the Licence Key
 
When you download the software for the first time, the Demo licence
will be installed.
 
For this course, the “englishchessfederation” licence must be used. For
security, uploading to Chess-Results will be restricted to this licence key.
 
Open Swiss-Manager, and go to Other -> Install. Click “Display
Conditions for Use. Then click Accept Conditions for Use. Then you can
put in the licence key and press OK.
 
The licence key is: XKU97059FYT25SP

imported from FIDE

the file/date of the
rating list

have successfully
been installed.
