  2. Speed read word find time!! How quickly can you find the following words by skimming and scanning the page? Page 85 - workbench Page 90 - whispered Page 92 satchel Page 94 - pain Page 99 conker

  3. Vocabulary Chapter 6 Vocabulary Chapter 6 Incapable Inadvertently Look at the following words - Without using a dictionary have a guess at what these words may mean - Looking at the beginning and end of the word (the prefix and suffix) and the root word (main part that makes sense on its own) may give you some clues. Does any part of the word sound like a word you have used/heard of before? Paralyzed Thoroughfare Precariously Garbled Infuriating Babble Animatedly Vaulted -

Vocabulary Chapter 6 Vocabulary Chapter 6 - - Answers Incapable unable to do something Answers Inadvertently in a way that is not intentional Paralysed unable to move or act Thoroughfare a main road for public use or a passage through somewhere Precariously in a way that is likely to fall, be damaged, fail, etc. Garbled If words or messages are garbled, they are not clear and are very difficult to understand, often giving a false idea of the facts Infuriating extremely annoying Babble to talk or say something in a quick, confused, excited, or silly way Animatedly in a way that shows a lot of interest and energy Vaulted - jumping over something by putting your hands or a pole on it first

  5. Read through Chapter 6 of Mr Nobodys Eyes Please read at least half of the chapter aloud, either to yourself or an adult. Remember to think about your expression and flow. Sound out unfamiliar words carefully.

Why do you think Harry s mother had tears in her eyes? She was upset that Harry had been hit by Mrs Hardcastle and embarrassed/upset that she had not realised he was not going to school. 3. Page 96. Which word shows that Harry knows he is going to be told off and there is nothing he can do about it? Resigned (having accepted something unpleasant that one cannot do anything about) 4. Page 103. Why did Harry no longer care about getting caught? Because Ocky was missing and all he cared about was finding her. 5. Page 109. What does Harry mean when he says He is a Judas. Harry trusted Father Murphy and he feels as though he has betrayed him.

Wednesday Wednesday - - Thursday Thursday Tricky Vocabulary Chapter 7 (20 mins) Look at the following words - Without using a dictionary have a guess at what these words may mean - Looking at the beginning and end of the word (the prefix and suffix) and the root word (main part that makes sense on its own) may give you some clues. Does any part of the word sound like a word you have used/heard of before? Can you put 3 into a sentence of your own? - Dithering - Leashes - Credibility - Kerfuffle - Embankment - Mercilessly - Demeanour - Animosity - Pummelled

Tricky Vocabulary Chapter 7 - Dithering - to be unable to make a decision about doing something - Leashes - a piece of rope, chain, etc. tied to an animal, especially to a dog at its collar when taking it for a walk: - Credibility - the fact that someone can be believed or trusted - Kerfuffle - noise, excitement, and argument - Embankment - an artificial slope made of earth and/or stones - Mercilessly - in a way that has or shows no mercy (= kindness or willingness to forgive) - Demeanour - a way of looking and behaving - Animosity - strong dislike, opposition, or anger - Pummelled to hit something repeatedly - To pummel = to hit someone or something repeatedly, especially with your fists (= closed hands):
