The Messianic Kingdom in Scripture
Scripture foretells the coming of a King from the tribe of Judah, a descendant of David, who will reign on David's throne forever. It also prophesies about the establishment of His eternal kingdom, already present since the ascension of Jesus. Following Acts 2, the focus shifts to the King and His established kingdom, where believers are part of His reign through the Church.

Acts 2 Is the Hub of the King and the Kingdom in the Bible Peter preached that Christ was NOW reigning on David s throne (2:29-36) David knew God would raise up his seed to sit on his throne (2:30) David foretold Christ s resurrection, a precursor to enthronement (31) The resurrection of Christ was the only explanation for what they were seeing (2:32-33) Christ s reign was to be a heavenly reign (at God s right hand) For Christ to NOW be reigning as king demands that His kingdom is NOW on this earth. The resurrection of Christ was necessary for Christ to reign as King and for His kingdom to be established (2:34-35) Jesus is Lord (2:36)!
Acts 2 Is the Hub of the King and the Kingdom in the Bible Since the church was established in Acts 2: The temple was built & Christ is our High Priest (Zech. 6:12-13) The house was established & all nations are in it (Isa. 2:2-3) The kingdom was set up & Christ reigns as King (Dan. 2:44)
