Global Grand Challenges of Resilience and Sustainability Summit initiative Collaboration between the national academies of engineering in the UK, US, and China Brings together leading international engineers, future engineers, innovators, and policy makers to share their ideas on solutions to the world s most pressing challenges EPSRC in UK and National Science Foundation (NSF) in US announced this joint activity to encourage collaborative interdisciplinary research which add value to existing engineering research activities Travel and staff/student exchanges

  4. Global Grand Challenges Focused around four research themes: Sustainability, Health, Enriching Life and Resilience. EPSRC prioritised existing investments in water engineering within the context of Sustainability and Resilience: water treatment and purification, water reuse, storm water use, water-energy nexus, urban water sustainability, resilience of water infrastructures
