MEETING GOALS Purpose of meeting Demonstrate the functionality of the beta version of the CEJST Provide technical information about the tool Explain various ways to provide feedback Presenters at this meeting are be available to provide technical support and address issues related to accessing and using the tool.

  4. SCREENING TOOL BACKGROUND Context of CEJST Requirement from Executive Order 14008: Executive Order 14008 charged the Council on Environmental Quality with creating a geospatial Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool and publishing interactive maps highlighting disadvantaged communities that are marginalized, underserved, and overburdened by pollution. In practice: Federal agencies will use the tool in the implementation of the Justice40 Initiative goal of directing 40 percent of the overall benefits of certain Federal investments to disadvantaged communities in climate, clean energy and energy efficiency, clean transit, affordable and sustainable housing, training and workforce development, clean water infrastructure, and the remediation of legacy pollution.
