  2. Why do we need a Mission? One cannot lead a life that is truly excellent without feeling that one belongs to something greater and more permanent than oneself.   3. Ask yourself these questions On a scale of 1 -10: 1. How excited are you to get to work in the morning? 2. How much do you enjoy what you do for its own sake rather than what it gets you? 3. How accountable do you hold yourself to a deeply held set of values? 3

Writing Your Personal Mission Statement Goal: Write a Mission Statement that will clearly articulate your life s purpose, will be compelling to you and others, and will serve as your compass for how you live your life 1. 2. Review sample Mission statements Begin writing your Mission Select verbs that excite you Identify Core Values Bring these together in a short, concise, memorable Mission statement 3. Identify one thing you will do differently to live your Mission Prior to class, please complete a DRAFT of a Mission Statement. 4

  5. Stretch your thinking with these questions Write your answers to these questions: 1. What dreams have you always had that have not been realized? 2. What have you always wanted to do and have never 3. What do you feel passionate about in this world? 5

  9. Every mission requires action, and action words are verbs.
