  1. Create your own marvelous medicine!

  2. In the story, Georges Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl, George makes his mean and miserable Grandma a new medicine. The new medicine does some very funny things to Grandma! We would like you to have a go at writing your own set of instructions for a marvellous medicine! Your task however, is to use ingredients that will turn Grandma into a sweet old lady! Use the following slides to help you plan and write your set of instructions

  3. Have a look at the recipe below. Note that there is a list of ingredients anda set of instructions Adjectives (describing words) have been added to make the ingredients sound nicer Bossy verbs or command verbs tell us what to do and how to do it Time adverbs help us to order the instructions so that they are clear and can be followed in the right order

  4. Remember, add interesting adjectives to make your ingredients sound nice flowery glossy sweet floral honeyed juicy fragrant minty sugary sleek creamy silky aromatic perfumed soft

  5. Use time adverbs to write your instructions First Next Then After that Finally

  6. Use bossy verbs (imperative or command verbs) to tell the person making the medicine what to do and how to do it put stir pour mix squirt spray blend whizz beat add

  7. Now have a go and write your own marvellous medicine! Use the saved template to help you or write it on a piece of paper.
