  1. Resourcing Mission and Ministry

  2. INITIATE ENACT LISTEN Life and Witness Consultation REPORT REFLECT ENGAGE

  3. PURPOSE The purpose of the consultation shall be to strengthen the life and witness of the Congregation, to assess future ministerial and lay leadership needs, and to review the records of the Congregation. (Reg. 3.1.4.b)

  4. GOALS The Life and Witness Consultation provides an opportunity for the congregation to: Clarify their sense of identity Renew their understanding of context in which they work Reflect on their direction and missional goals Identify their leadership needs, and other resources, that might be needed over the next five years Assist with the deployment of resources, and the implementation of missional goals

  5. OUTCOMES The congregation is renewed in mission and ministry and revitalised in their life and witness.

  6. Life and Witness Consultation Renewed Connected to God & Christ through the Spirit Connected to our identity in Christ and God s call Connected to each other as the Church Connected to the mission and ministry of God Revitalised

  7. OUTCOMES The consultation process enables the congregation to: Better connected with God, themselves, the community, and the Presbytery Gain a clearer sense of their gifts, passions and strengths as well as the challenges they face Discern and decide the next step in where God might be calling the congregation next in God s mission.

  8. INITIATE WORSHIP PRAYER ENACT LISTEN LIFE & WITNESS CONSULTATION STAGES REPORT REFLECT ENGAGE Reflection Discernment

  9. 1. INITIATE - Making contact - Establishing clear communications - Building relationships 2. LISTEN INITIATE ENACT LISTEN LIFE & WITNESS CONSULTATION - Attend service, programs and activities - Spending time with people; time for sharing and discussion - Learning about the congregation and it s mission and ministry. REPORT REFLECT ENGAGE

  10. INITIATE 3. REFLECT ENACT LISTEN - Reflect on the information gathered 4. ENGAGE LIFE & WITNESS CONSULTATION - Group facilitation process or workshop to consider and decide together the way forward REPORT REFLECT ENGAGE

  11. INITIATE 5. REPORT - Reporting back to the Congregation, and the Life and Witness Committee, what has been discerned and recommended during the consultation. 6. ENACT ENACT LISTEN LIFE & WITNESS CONSULTATION REPORT REFLECT - Congregation and Presbytery take up what has discerned and recommended. ENGAGE
