  1. MRS. MCDERMOND FIFTH GRADE ROOM 109

  2. Best way for parents to contact me is through ClassDOJO. Your child can contact me regarding assignments by logging in to Schoology and sending a message on the message board.

  3. Daily Schedule 8:30-9:00- RTI/AAP 9:00-9:20- SEL-Leader in Me 9:20-9:40- Number Corner 9:40-10:20- Math 10:20-10:50- Virtual Office Hours (Log on for extra help in needed) 10:50-11:10- Whole Group Reading 11:10-12:10- Small Group Reading and Rotations 12:10-12:35 Break/Work on Assignments 12:35-1:05 Special 1:05-1:40 Lunch 1:40-1:50- Phonics 1:50-2:30- Writing/Social Studies/Science 2:30-3:00- Virtual Office Hours (Log on for extra help if needed) 3:00-4:00- Work on assignments independently

  4. SPECIALS SCHEDULE 12:35-1:05 MONDAY-IREADY PRACTICE TUESDAY-TECHNOLOGY WEDNESDAY-P.E. THURSDAY-MUSIC FRIDAY-ART Students are expected to attend Specials each day by either joining the zoom meeting or logging in the Schoology to complete the assignment that has been posted by the Specialist.

  5. I will be zooming with your child every day beginning at 8:30. Zoom links will be posted on Schoology and Class DOJO. When your child logs on to Zoom, their name should appear as the participant who is in the waiting room so that I can admit them to the meeting. Please make sure your child is in an area free of distractions and other loud noises during our zoom calls and has all materials needed for the day. Breaks are given throughout the morning session to give your child a chance to walk away from the screen.

  6. Zoom Rules for Room 109 1) Turn on your video. 2) Stay muted unless it is your turn to speak. 3) Be on time and know your schedule. 4) Try your best to be in a quiet room (Use headphones with a microphone) 5) Raise your hand to speak. 6) Participate. 7) All Zooms are recorded. 8) Only type in the chat when your teacher asks you to. 9) Be kind and respectful. 10)10) Stay focused and on topic. 11) Be a Virtual Leader.

  7. All assignments will be posted on Schoology. Students should be using their account to log on and complete the assignments. Room 109 Schoology Words to the Wiser 1) Make a checklist of what assignment is due when. 2) Ask for help! Use your voice. I am here for you. 3) Compete assignments on time. 4) Assignments are graded. 5) Use appropriate language and grammar when completing assignments-No texting, social media, or online gaming language. 6) Put First Things First and get your work done. 7) Whatever you post is permanent. Show kindness and only discuss what is relevant to the topic. 8) Use proper punctuation and DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS(Why are you yelling?) 9) If you think you should not say or post something-Don t post it! 10)10)Begin with the End in Mind and do your very best on every assignment. 11) School is where you are. The Choice is Yours.

  8. Assignments should be submitted to Schoology in the correct course folder for the day. Some assignments are posted as Schoology assessments and others are posted for students to download from Kami so they can be marked on using the Kami tools. In addition, when students complete assignments in the workbooks from the curriculum kit, they can take pictures of the pages and submit them to the Schoology assignment folder. Assignments that are not completed during the zoom sessions should be completed and submitted to Schoology.

  10. ATTENDANCE ATTENDANCE WILL BE TAKEN EVERY DAY DURING REMOTE LEARNING. ATTEND A ZOOM MEETING (SYNCHRONOUS) COMPLETE ASSIGNMENTS FROM SCHOOLOGY WHEN YOU CANNOT ATTEND A ZOOM MEETING (ASYNCHRONOUS) STUDENTS WILL HAVE 7 CALENDAR DAYS TO COMPLETE WORK PLEASE MAKE SURE TO SEND AN ABSENT NOTE IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND/LOG ON FOR OUR DAILY LESSONS

  11. GRADING ALL WORK THAT IS COMPLETED DURING REMOTE LEARNING WILL BE USED FOR THE REPORT CARD FOR THE FIRST MARKING PERIOD THE 1ST MARKING PERIOD ENDS OCTOBER 30TH
