Innovative Career Pathway Program at George County High School

Providing rigor, relevance, and relationships to incoming ninth-grade students at George County High School through centrally located classes, collaborative planning, and a Keystone class introducing career clusters. Students participate in interest surveys and monthly advisory meetings to choose pathways based on their interests. Career Days, job shadowing activities, and student/parent orientations further support students in preparing for their future careers.

  2. To provide rigor, relevance, and relationships to our incoming ninth grade students. Motivating and cultivating student interest in post secondary goals. Centrally located classes

  3. Collaborative planning and cooperative interaction among teachers and students. Focus on student careers and interest Rebel Time for extra support in class Transition support

  4. Keystone class This class introduces ninth grade students to the 16 career clusters. Each student will perform research tasks associated with the career to help prepare them for the pathway of their choosing. Interest survey for each student.

  5. Advisory meetings once a month to discuss the pathway options in each Career Academy. Students will choose the pathway of their choosing based on their interest and interest survey.
