And the LORD has declared today that you are a people for his treasured possession, as he has promised you, and that you are to keep all his commandments, 19 and that he will set you in (= for) praise and in (= for) fame and in honor high above all nations that he has made, and that you shall be a people holy to the LORD your God, as he promised.

I made the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah cling to me, declares the LORD, that they might be for me a people, a name, a praise, and a glory, but they would not listen.

On that day the LORD their God will save them, as the flock of his people; for like the jewels of a crown they shall shine on his land. 17For how great is his goodness, and how great his beauty!

  9. o God reinforces his promise more personally (3:20) The promise: He will gather you to himself The reason he will redeem: I will make you for a name and for praise among all the peoples of the earth.

  10. Takeaway Stand fearless before others and persevere in hope. For God s sake, delight in the Lord who shows his sovereign care for his people by rescuing them from their enemies.
